Studio Policies
Please read the following policies carefully. By enrolling at Joy in Piano, you agree to abide by these guidelines.
Tuition & Payment
Tuition is billed monthly and is due on the first lesson of each month. We accept cash, check, or electronic payment. A late fee may apply to payments received after the 10th of the month. Tuition rates are set at the beginning of each academic year and are subject to annual review.
Lesson Cancellations & Make-Ups
We require at least 24 hours' notice for lesson cancellations. Lessons cancelled with proper notice may be eligible for a make-up lesson, subject to teacher availability. Lessons cancelled without adequate notice or missed without notice will be charged at the full rate. Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy and are not guaranteed.
Teacher Cancellations
If the teacher must cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time, or a credit will be applied to the following month's tuition.
Practice Expectations
Regular practice is essential to progress. Students are expected to practice a minimum of 20–30 minutes per day, five days per week. Parents of younger students are encouraged to sit in on lessons periodically and assist with home practice.
Recitals & Performances
Joy in Piano holds a Holiday Performance Series each December and a Spring Performance each June. Participation in performances is strongly encouraged for all students, as performance experience is an important part of musical development.
Studio Conduct
Students and parents are expected to treat the studio, its equipment, and all individuals with respect. Disruptive behavior may result in dismissal from the studio. Electronic devices should be silenced during lessons.
Enrollment & Withdrawal
Enrollment is on a continuing basis. To withdraw from lessons, please provide at least two weeks' written notice. Tuition will be charged through the end of the notice period.
