Our Curriculum
Our curriculum focuses on building a solid technique and strong note-reading skills. Students will also have the opportunity to improvise, compose, and perform. We maintain a balance between discipline and fun in every lesson, allowing each student to discover his or her own joy in piano.
Students participate in our Holiday Performance Series each December and our Spring Performance each June, gaining valuable stage experience in a warm, supportive community environment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What age do you start teaching?
We welcome students starting at 4 years old. Our youngest students receive age-appropriate instruction focused on fun, exploration, and foundational skills.
Do I need a piano at home?
Yes, regular practice at home is essential to progress. Students should have access to a piano or full-size keyboard with weighted keys. We are happy to offer guidance on selecting an instrument.
How long are lessons?
Lesson lengths vary based on the student's age and level. We offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute lesson options. Contact us to discuss what is right for your student.
Is there a free trial lesson?
Yes! We offer a free demonstration lesson for all new students and their families. This is a great opportunity to meet our director, Michael Rice, see the studio, and find out if piano lessons are a good fit.

Our curriculum covers classical technique and music theory as a foundation, but students are encouraged to explore a variety of styles including pop, jazz, and their own compositions.
